What He’s Known For
Brian has a passion for bringing people together. Labelled the “settlement whisperer” by a former colleague for his successes at resolving clients’ legal disputes, Brian’s approach balances the need to take firm positions where appropriate with a creative search for common ground. When litigation is necessary, Brian is a dedicated advocate with experience representing both unionized and non-union employers in all areas of employment and labour law.
Brian is also an investigator and trainer, with experience conducting workplace harassment investigations and delivering training to employers on topics such as workplace investigations, performance management and human rights.
Brian is an avid swing dancer, and he can often be found gliding across a sprung wood floor to the jazz music of the 1930s and 40s. He is also a passionate swing dance organizer. Brian is currently the president of Toronto Lindy Hop, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching and improving the swing dance experience in Toronto through a variety of events and programs, and recruiting and managing an 11-member volunteer board has given Brian insights into some of the human resources challenges faced by his clients.
